ACARA 2023

ACARA 2023

The network of life is made up of several loops, both large and little, in which all materials and information are exchanged. The need for resources and waste is reduced when everything is interconnected through these loops since all the raw materials are constructed into something and then disassembled within the loop. This is the equation for life to exist independently on this planet for billions of years with finite resources. ACARA 2023

A network that creates built forms using resources from this planet is architecture. These built forms should be created with a recyclable purpose as well. Therefore, allowing them to be broken down into their component parts and recycled again. The concepts of life’s loops are ingrained in all of the operations of a circular architecture, creating a system that is restorative and regenerative by design. With assets kept at their highest levels of utility at all times and the use of digital technologies as a crucial process enabler, such architecture eliminates the concept of waste. A circular design separates the production of valuable goods from the consumption of limited resources in order to foster prosperity and economic resilience for both the structure and its occupants.
