Description of Post

The Department of Building & Civil Engineering is one of three departments in the School of Engineering and presently has over 650 students on level 6, 7, 8, and 9 programmes in the built environment.

It is expected that the lecturer will have a background in the Built Environment and will teach across a range of construction disciplines. The lecturer will teach on Level 6, 7 and 8 programmes in Architectural Technology, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying and the Postgraduate Higher Diploma in Engineering in Building Information Modelling. The lecturer should be proficient in current relevant software and have a specialist expert knowledge and experience of construction technology and current building regulations. The lecturer will join a multi-disciplinary team working in a challenging and ever-changing environment delivering new programmes including apprenticeships through technology to enthusiastic and highly motivated full-time, part-time and on-line students.

Essential Qualifications

  • An Honours degree (2.2 or higher) in a Built Environment discipline such as Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Architectural Technology or Quantity Surveying Level 8 degree [as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)], or equivalent.
  • Three years relevant post-qualification experience.

Salary

€39,400.00 – €53,986.00 (10 Increments)
