Architect Job: Associate Dean, Business and Enterprise

Updates on engineering and architecture jobs available around the world

We are an ambitious, forward-thinking university, aspiring to create opportunity and lead social, economic and cultural change. Our Business and Enterprise portfolio is central to this. As Associate Dean Business and Enterprise (ADB&E), you will provide visible strategic leadership for this portfolio within the college, agreeing and implementing ambitious plans that support and enable Sheffield Hallam’s mission to be the world’s leading applied university.

Key priorities will include:

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities e.g. higher degree apprenticeships and higher technical qualifications
  • Increasing the number of students on placement years
  • Leading improvements in graduate outcomes
  • Ensuring all our degrees fully integrate employability, professional learning and relationships with employers
  • Positioning our students to play an active civic role in the city, region and beyond

The capabilities you will need include:

  • A demonstrable commitment to equality of opportunity, diversity and inclusion
  • Experience of contributing to strategy development in the context of B&E and a strong understanding of the key factors, trends and issues relevant to this portfolio
  • Substantial experience of the successful development of business that has resulted in the realisation of sustainable and high-quality external engagements
  • Exemplary interpersonal and people management skills

It’s also vital that you share our ‘Hallam Values’ of ambition, collaboration, inclusion, innovation and integrity, visibly role modelling these to staff both within the college and externally, as a member of the College Leadership Team.

We particularly welcome applications from women, candidates from ethnic minority backgrounds and candidates with a disability, as these groups under-represented at senior leadership levels at Sheffield Hallam.

The University may be able to sponsor the employment of international applicants in this role; this will depend on a number of factors specific to the individual applicant.
