Updates on engineering and architecture jobs available around the world

Interview date: 09 November 2022

We seek to appoint sessional teaching fellow/tutors to contribute to the delivery of our undergraduate and/or post graduate curriculum.  The number of hours worked is flexible and by negotiation.  The rate of pay will include remuneration for all work done in connection with teaching, preparation, setting and marking of work and examinations, related course administration and holiday pay accrued.

We are seeking to recruit part-time hourly paid lecturers to support teaching in design studio, and in other areas across the Portsmouth School of Architecture.  As well as good general subject knowledge – specifically in relation to spatial design, applicants should demonstrate specialist knowledge and experience in one of the following areas:

·       Architecture

·       Interior architecture and design

If you have experience of teaching and assessment within an HE setting in a relevant subject and are keen to use those skills to enhance our current provision, we would be interested to receive an application from you.

Sessional teaching fellows are expected to follow and deliver the established curriculum and contribute to assessment activities including moderation of assessments and dissertation supervision. Although a certain amount of independence in planning and delivering of teaching and assessment is expected, post holders will need to communicate well with the full-time staff and work effectively as part of a teaching team.

We welcome applications from all qualified applicants, but applications are particularly encouraged from under-represented groups. The University of Portsmouth holds an Athena Swan bronze award and is committed to introduce organisational and cultural practices that promote gender equality and create a better working environment for all.  The University of Portsmouth’s teaching has achieved the highest possible ‘Gold’ rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework in recognition of the excellence of its teaching.

Successful candidates will be appointed to the bank of STF staff available and if needed be offered hours during the period September 2022 to September 2023.
