About the Role:
The Faculty of Science and Engineering combines a strong and active research culture with excellence in learning and teaching. Our Faculty is the largest in ARU with over 8,500 students studying worldwide. The Faculty comprises 530 staff across disciplines that include engineering, architecture, animal sciences, psychology, life sciences and computing. As the Head of School for Engineering & the Built Environment and Faculty Executive Team member, you will have responsibility for the development and delivery of the school’s ambitions plans for refreshing its course portfolio, significant growth in student numbers especially in Engineering disciplines, forging new partnerships with external organisations and employers, and improving B3/TEF outcomes.
You will bring to this role your academic standing in engineering, architecture, surveying or a relevant discipline with previous experience of leading Engineering and Built Environment disciplines, and demonstrable a track record of developing market-informed courses with strong student outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have excellent and in depth understanding and working knowledge of TEF and REF. With leadership and management experience in a similar level role with proven ability to develop productive relationships to encourage collaboration and increase the potential for innovative, inter-disciplinary and cross-campus working.
