Hours: Part-time 18.5 hours

Salary: £38,592 – £53,353 per annum pro rata

The School of Natural and Built Environment (NBE) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Lecturer (Education) in Architecture, on a part-time basis.

We are looking for highly-motivated and enthusiastic Architect to join a team which is responsible for delivering professionally accredited Architecture courses, at Part 1 and Part 2.

You will be expected to engage significantly with the teaching, assessment, organisation and administration of professional skills elements, and contribute to architecture design studio within the school: assisting with coordinating modules and working with colleagues to deliver lectures and design studio teaching, leading seminars, conducting tutorials and participating in other teaching activities, as required. 

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team that engage with culture, technology and space to generate new understandings of emerging forms of urbanism and building typologies.

Please note that candidates must be available to start in October 2022

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have:

  • M.Arch (Distinction or Commendation) in an accredited ARB/RIBA Part II (or equivalent) programme; BSc (1st class or 2.1) in Architecture in an accredited ARB/RIBA Part 1 (or equivalent) programme).
  • Registered architect in UK or Ireland.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivery of education to undergraduate architecture students to achieve Part I RIBA/ARB professional accreditation.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the design, procurement, construction, and compliance processes of reasonably complex contemporary building projects.
  • Demonstrable experience in the delivery of education to Part 1 and or Part 2 requirements – in teaching, providing tutorials, lectures and workshops as necessary

Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
