About the role 

Staffordshire University is pleased to announce the recruitment of a Senior Lecturer/Lecturer position in Architecture, to join our recently established School of Architecture. This recruitment is central to our ambitious expansion plans and hence helping us deliver against the University’s vision and beyond.

Architecture sits within our Department of Art & Design which currently has 4 top ten courses in the 2023 Guardian League Tables, and excellent results in the REF. Art & Design at Staffordshire University has a well-established reputation for providing an innovative portfolio which includes both Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses. We wish to complement our existing, experienced, and very successful academic team with suitably qualified, passionate and motivated candidates seeking to further their career in Higher Education.

As an established Lecturer/Senior Lecturer and subject expert in Architecture, you will be expected to teach and assess students across a range of levels and contribute to the University’s research and scholarly activity outputs in your subject area. As the School is expanding, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to creating new Built Environment related courses including, but not limited to Interior Architecture. We will also look for you to help shape our teaching and learning strategies to explicitly enhance the student experience through the use of digital technology.

The successful candidate will be expected to have full professional membership of the RIBA and be registered with the ARB or equivalent. Good knowledge of the RIBA and ARB accreditation requirements, as well as the ARB proposal on education and training reforms is essential.

You must be an enthusiastic, reliable, and resourceful academic with ambition to undertake research, consultancy and income generating activities. You must be educated to postgraduate or equivalent level professional experience in Architecture, with an excellent industry background and connections accompanied by strong team working skills.
