Architect Job: Senior Lecturer – Contextual and Theoretical Studies

Contextual and Theoretical Studies (CTS) occupy a central position across the Design School at LCC and underpin all UG courses with a framework of critical, contextual and theoretical thinking.

The Senior Lecturer in Contextual and Theoretical Studies is responsible for leadership in teaching, curriculum development and on-going scholarship within a programme, focusing on the delivery of four CTS units. This includes hybrid delivery with a focus on optionality and inter-disciplinarily. The post-holder will work collaboratively within the CTS team and staff across all eight undergraduate courses in the school, deploying specialist expertise to develop pedagogy and the curriculum in innovative and critical directions.

Your profile
You will have an undergraduate degree and expertise in one of the following areas: creative and cultural industries, design, art, architecture histories and theories, visual cultures, visual studies, design studies, cultural and critical studies, design and curatorial studies, or associated subject.

You will have experience of teaching & assessment in a higher education environment (permanent, fractional, or hourly paid contract). We are especially interested in candidates committed to inclusive pedagogy, social and climate justice, and advancing equity in their teaching practice.

You will collaborate and work effectively within teams and across different professional groups to develop the curriculum in innovative and critical directions.
