The School of Art and Design is internationally recognized and award-winning, with a tradition of innovation since 1843. The School is a dynamic environment which embraces innovation in teaching, research and professional practice and offers exciting undergraduate and postgraduate courses including, automotive and product design, fine art, illustration, interior and graphic design, fashion, games art and architecture.

The Deputy Head reports to the Head of School, to drive forward the School’s contribution to the University’s Corporate Plan, assuming lead responsibility for the School’s day-to-day operational management and requirements. You will support the Head in representing the School internally and externally, and implementing policies and procedures at School level. You will liaise closely with the Associate Heads of School and other school staff to support the school’s aims. You will oversee staff and resource management and ensure colleagues receive the training and development and they need.

This role will require a PhD (or an equivalent level of professional standing alongside a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject), and have experience in a relevant subject area, with a track record of academic excellence and innovative.
