Signal Festival
October 10 @ 8:00 am – October 13 @ 5:00 pm
Signal Festival takes over Prague Castle, turning it into a dynamic art space with video mapping and installations. From October 10 to 13, 2024, one festival route will feature Prague Castle, while the other will highlight artworks in central Prague. The twelfth edition, titled Ecosystems II: Quest, will showcase 22 installations, including exclusive works in the Gallery Zone. Highlights include Filip Hodas’s video mapping at Archbishop’s Palace, Jiří Příhoda’s sculptures at Sternberg Palace, UVA’s kinetic project at Kunsthalle Praha, and Quayola’s sound projection at CAMP.
Prague Castle Comes Alive
For the first time, Signal Festival will light up Prague Castle. “We are thrilled to transform this historic site into a vibrant space for art,” says Martin Pošta, Director of Signal Festival. The festival will illuminate the castle’s galleries and surroundings, showcasing a range of installations and projections.
Festival Routes and Highlights
The Prague Castle route starts at the Prague Castle Riding Hall, moving through palaces and South Gardens, ending at Kunsthalle Praha. Sternberg Palace will feature Jiří Příhoda’s dynamic projection and Karbola, an experimental installation. Filip Hodas’s video mapping installation, Eternal Recurrence, will be at Archbishop’s Palace. United Visual Artists (UVA) will present Strange Attractions at Kunsthalle Praha.
Central Prague Attractions
The second route explores Prague’s Old Town and central areas. The façade of the Municipal Library will transform into an oceanic depth with The Rhythm of the Ocean by Desilence. Silent Echoes, by Bill Fontana, will be installed in the Dominican Convent. The journey ends at CAMP with Quayola’s Effets de Soir, capturing transitions in light and color.
