As explained by UIA, with this theme, UIA, an international non-governmental organization based in  Paris, aims to

To place special emphasis on the capacity and responsibility of architecture;

To create a viable community life and open an international debate on the relationship between urban areas and rural areas in all countries.

“Uncontrolled urban sprawl around the world threatens the world’s environmental, social and economic balance,” the UIA stressed.

“The climate crises, global pandemic and political unrest in many countries have exposed social,

economic and environmental inequalities that threaten societies around the world and disproportionately affect poor and marginalized groups.”

As the world faces the difficult task of how to better respond to current climate and social challenges,

This year’s theme aims to “raise the issue of the efficiency and adequacy of traditional planning tools for organizing territories and producing environmental and social resources.” Respectable architecture.”

On World Architecture Day, UIA invites member departments to continue the discussion on this topic and encourage regional and urban planning concepts and policies,

Which enables architects to develop innovative solutions and design viable buildings and public spaces for resilient communities.

The aim of the discussions is to “humanize” all types of urbanization,

respecting cultural heritage, and restoring the relationship with nature and biodiversity.

World Architecture Day was created by the UIA in 1985, with the goal of “reminding the world of its collective responsibility for the future of human habitats”.

The idea was simple: the aim was to “reflect on the state of our towns and cities and the basic right of all to adequate shelter.

It was also meant to remind the world of its collective responsibility for the future of human habitats.”
