SUMMARY:Womxn in Design and Architecture Conference — Lauretta Vinciarelli
DESCRIPTION:Event BriefIntentWomxn in Design and Architecture Conference 2026 is a yearly event concerned with the subjects of design and architecture in an academic and professional way. The conference celebrates the work and influence of an essential architect or designer and at the same time brings up modern architectural themes through a variety of discussions among scholars. Basically\, it is a conference rather than a competitive design event like the others.  PurposeThe main goal of the event is to get historians\, scholars\, artists\, curators\, and practitioners into a dialogue discussing the intersections of architecture\, art\, ideology\, and disciplinary inquiry. The 2026 edition is dedicated to the contributions and influence of Lauretta Vinciarelli on the architectural research and theory. RequirementsThe participants are free to attend different activities like sessions\, presentations\, and discussions. It is not necessary to submit design projects or compete with one’s work. The event welcomes all those who are interested in architectural history and debate to join the audience.  JuryThe conference has no jury since it is not a competition with prizes or results decided by judges. There is no official judging panel in connection with this event that is published.  Fees\n\n\n\n\nCategory\nCost (USD)\n\n\n\n\nConference access\nFree\n\n\n\n\nRewards\n\n\n\n\nReward type\nDetails\n\n\n\n\nFormal awards\nNone\n\n\nRecognition format\nNone\n\n\nProfessional benefit\nExposure to scholarly discourse and architectural history\n\n\n\n\nDates\n\n\n\n\nDetail\nInformation\n\n\n\n\nEvent dates\nFebruary 26 to February 27 2026\n\n\nVenue\nPrinceton School of Architecture\n\n\nTypical hours\nFull days of scheduled sessions\n\n\n\n\n✦ ArchUp Editorial InsightThe 10th Womxn in Design and Architecture Conference hosted by Princeton School of Architecture is a great opportunity to showcase the prominent work and intellectual legacy of Lauretta Vinciarelli\, placing her practice where art and architectural investigations meet. The academic framing of the event and the focus on Vinciarelli’s material-led spatial investigations provide a helpful historical lens; on the other hand\, the lack of published program details or a critical framework for architectural assessment render its contribution to broader disciplinary debate reliant on the quality of the individual presentations and discussions. The conference seems to be directed towards scholarly reflection on practice and pedagogy rather than proposing new design methodologies or pushing contemporary spatial theory forward. Conclusion and Final ThoughtsThe Womxn in Design and Architecture Conference 2026 is an event dedicated to the academic world that places the focus on architectural discourse and the legacy of the past. It does not have a jury or competitive design aspect\, and participation is allowed without any formal submission requirements. The format is designed to promote the critical exploration of architectural history and theory instead of the recognition of design work through competition.
