Solelp is a smart exercise mat that provides real-time feedback via LIDAR sensors and embedded LEDs.

Many people nowadays suffer from back or neck pain as a result of poor posture, and we all know that stretching regularly is critical for healthy posture. Many people, on the other hand, found it difficult to find the motivation to stretch daily. Even though stretching regularly is critical for proper posture. Many people nevertheless suffer from back discomfort or achy necks as a result of slouched shoulders or standing awkwardly. Regular exercise is an excellent strategy to counteract these effects, but few people have the motivation to participate.

“The existing approach does not provide an immediate reward or joy like other activities,” explains By Minjco, a Korean designer who built an interactive mat to encourage people to stretch.

It entails a gamified exercise centered on a yoga-style mat with integrated LEDs and a media station for plugging in your phone and following along with an instructor.

“There must be an added sense of satisfaction and entertainment that people can feel immediately away to motivate stretching,” adds By.

The user is guided by the inbuilt LEDs and a movie presented on their phone, which is slid into a bar at the mat’s head.

The user’s movement is then detected by a combination of motion sensors, including a LIDAR sensor and a camera. Those sensors convert into specific prizes or milestones to make the game more engaging.

Exercising has become more gamified.

Fitness apps and gadgets nowadays frequently use gamification to make exercising more enjoyable and engaging.

It includes adding game-like features to fitness duties such as daily workouts and strength training. Along with fitness tracking tools like pedometers or rep-counters that track progress and reward users for achieving objectives and milestones.

Minco created equipment based on this principle, resulting in an overall design that expresses the product’s lively and dynamic mood.

Stretching is no longer a chore with these features. But rather a smart and enjoyable activity, which corresponds to the current trend in at-home workout equipment such as Peloton.
