This baby health monitor is disguised as a little shoe

Little I promote a straightforward and comfortable user experience while monitoring the most crucial signs of a baby’s health.

Industrial designer Chris Barnes created the ideal item after the inspiration of the shape and functionality of a sandal.

The child’s foot is attached to a silicone strap that is over-molded onto the ABS enclosure containing all the required electrics and hugs the rear of the ankle.

Once the baby wears the shoe, s mechanical switch activates the gadget. Then, it measures the child’s temperature, heart rate, and oxygen saturation.

The affordability and unobtrusiveness of this technology were two of its primary goals. Barnes wanted it to be dependable and easy to grasp at the same time.

It has a straightforward UI that uses a traffic light system and separate sound notifications to show the baby’s state.

The planned service entails nonprofit organizations purchasing and delivering the device to areas where they will use it to teach people how to use it as part of their services.

The mother/caregiver can learn more in the community concurrently with receiving one from a medical practitioner after giving birth.

A newborn health monitor that is wearable for countries with limited resources

The fact that millions of newborns die from a lack of access to medical care and facilities inspired Barnes to create the Little I concept.

Little I, according to him, “reaches a market that present solutions cannot.” By equipping them with a low-cost, easily-accessible device and ultimately giving them new confidence that their infant will live despite their lack of medical knowledge, this innovation empowers parents in low-resource countries to monitor their newborn newborns.
