World Press Photo Contest 2023 is now open for entries!

World Press Photo Contest 2023: The World Press Photo Contest, the most prestigious international competition for photojournalism in the world, recently has been opened for entries for 2023 inviting all professional press photographers, photo agencies, newspapers, and magazines from anywhere in the world to participate.

About Competition

The annual World Press Photo Contest 2023, the most prestigious international competition for photojournalism in the world once again is open for entries bringing together pictures from all parts of the globe to reflect trends and developments in photojournalism.

The World Press Photo Contest rewards photographers for the best single-exposure pictures contributing to the past year of visual journalism. Whether entered as singles or stories, these pictures are judged in terms of their accurate, fair, and visually compelling insights about our world.

Additionally, there are four categories: Singles, Stories, Long-Term Projects, and Open Format.

Pictures can be submitted whether or not they have been published.

Furthermore, entries will be judged in six worldwide regions: Africa, Asia, Europe, North and Central America, South America, and Southeast Asia, and Oceania.

 

Eligibility

World Press Photo Contest 2023 is open worldwide to all professional photographers in the field of photojournalism and/or documentary photography. Moreover, team entries of two or more photographers are allowed. Proof of professional status must be provided for each team member.

Prize

The 24 regional winners will be awarded, one per category. Each of the winners will receive 1,000 EUR. The 4 global winners will receive an additional 5,000 EUR.

Entry fees

There is no entry fee to participate!
