Zapovednik Pop-Up Exhibition at Skolkovo Moscow
In Russia, in conditions of strong centralization, people’s attention is usually focused on what happens in capitals — Moscow and St. Petersburg, less often — on events in other large cities. But we try to discover the amazing, unique in things that look ordinary and imperceptible at first glance. Industrial cities, ethnic settlements and isolated villages — any place is reserved, living in its own dimension. This exhibition is a reason to reflect and discuss how a huge country lives outside metropolitan cities.
Zapovednik presents photos from seven federal districts of Russia: the Volga, North-Western, Southern, North-Caucasian, Ural, Siberian and Far Eastern ones. These lands, despite the geographical differences, are united by the fact that life flows there according to their own laws, almost never getting into the news feed of big news media.
