In 2016, commercial photographer Kelly Kline and her wife, Symantha Reenders, were inspired to purchase a vintage camper after seeing several on their 10-day road trip from Seattle to San Francisco. The couple started actively surfing the web and attended countless RV rallies but thought most of the newer ones didn’t look fun, cool, or sexy.

Six years later, Kline and Reenders are the proud owners of three refurbished vintage campers with their own distinct personalities. They launched a camper rental company, Vintage Ventures, this month as an extension to their production studio and event space in downtown Atlanta, Treehouse Studios.

“We started looking, and we just didn’t love the modern ones,” Kline tells AD. “They’re just so ugly and have no personality. They all look the same, and they’re all brown. We just wanted something with more personality, and that’s how we fell into it.”

The wives recently unveiled their latest addition, The Alma, a 30-foot long luxury suite originally manufactured in the 1950s. For this project, they had some help from an unusual source—Lil Jon. They appeared on the HGTV home improvement series Lil Jon Wants to Do What to collaborate with the Grammy-winning producer/DJ and builder Anitra Mecadon on giving the rusted, three-room car they purchased off eBay, in 2019, sight unseen, a complete makeover.
