zarahome+ is a quest for timelessness
Zara Home recently announced the launch of a furniture collection alongside Belgian architect and designer Vincent Van Duysen titled ZARAHOME+ / Collection 01. Featuring timeless pieces for the living room, this unique collaboration lays the foundations for future collections by celebrating simple shapes, natural materials, and exquisite crafts. Products include sofas, armchairs, desks, love seats, side tables, lighting, stools, consoles, dining chairs, and carpets.
On his creations, Van Duysen writes: ‘A home is where our hearts belong, where we need to feel comfortable, to feel protected. Turning 60 this year, the timing felt right for a collaboration like this. I felt compelled to look back to look forward. I began the project by diving into my archives — an introspective exercise in analyzing my own DNA. These fundamentals became the building blocks for the ZARAHOME+ collection.’

gentle living: geometric purity meets exquisite furniture craft
Combining Zara Home’s democratic approach to everyday living with his distinctive 30-year-long craft, Van Duysen (see more here) leveraged the magnetism of pure geometries to create the debut series of ZARAHOME+ — revealing streamlined design fitted with elegant textures, refined woodwork, and tactual finishes. The resulting furniture series easily endows every space with honest comfort and gentle living.
‘My goal was to instill a renewed purity into these silhouettes for ZARAHOME+. In breaking down this geometrical language, I felt I was able to put the pieces back together in a way that felt even more true to my philosophy. Versions that were simple, sincere, and soulful. […] Each piece, in a serial and utilitarian manner, is given a number as part of a coded system that easily lends itself to future collections,’ comments Van Duysen.
Lounge Chair 01: saddle leather woven onto a wooden frame
The debut launch specifically takes cues from the architect’s home in Antwerp, where rational forms meet neutral tones and rich materials like wood, stone, and linen. For example, Van Deysen chose neutral linen and bouclé upholstery to coat the sofas and armchairs, offering users what he considers to be ‘archetypal’ comfort. In contrast, his lounge chair and stools blend woven saddle leather with a modernist wooden frame, echoing a more vibrant and earthy undertone. Moving on to cooler surfaces, the cross-shaped Side Table 01 combines Galican limestone with ash, establishing an elegant and muted accent.
