The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Middle East Chapter has opened entries for its 11th Year-End Conference and Design Awards, scheduled for November 22-23, 2024, in Doha, Qatar. This event will bring together leaders and experts in the field to explore Qatar’s unique architectural landscape and rapid urban growth.
The theme of the conference, “Qatar: Morphogenesis of a Pearl,” focuses on Qatar’s architectural evolution, reflecting a blend of traditional cultural heritage and modern innovation. The discussions will emphasize the rapid transformation from a fishing village to a global architectural hub, showcasing Qatar’s diverse and dynamic built environment.
The event will also highlight sustainability as a key factor in Qatar’s development. Discussions will include how Qatar’s architecture responds to functional and environmental needs, with a focus on sustainable practices that align with the country’s growth ambitions.
AIA Middle East Design Awards
The AIA Middle East Chapter is accepting submissions for the 2024 Design Awards, an annual program that honors excellence across architecture, interior architecture, urban design, and unbuilt projects by chapter members. The awards aim to elevate the profession, recognizing innovative design contributions and encouraging public appreciation for high-quality architecture.

The awards program is exclusively open to AIA Middle East members.
