‘Mr. Doodle in love’ comes to wuhan K11 art mall

Remember that viral doodled house in England? That was just one of Mr. Doodle’s immersive works, a 12-room house completely covered with his signature cartoonish illustrations. Almost a year later, the British artist, whose real name is Sam Cox, is leaving his homeland behind and traveling to Asia to present his first solo exhibition in central China. Titled ‘Mr. Doodle in Love,’ the exhibition celebrates the love story between Cox and his wife, also known as Mrs. Doodle, while black and white doodles mix with bright colors and cover the entire K11 art space in Wuhan.

a world of doodles that grows and multiplies

After a successful run at the Shanghai space of K11 Art Museum (find more here) in spring 2023, the exhibition ‘Mr Doodle in Love’ now opens at the K11 space in Wuhan. From 31 March, to 18 June, 2023, audiences in central China will have the opportunity to celebrate the romantic love of Mr. Doodle (find more here) and Mrs. Doodle (find more here), through illustrations of their everyday life and joyful moments.

Mr. Doodle’s iconic black and white doodles are interwoven with bright colors and spread throughout the spaces, which are modeled after residential interiors. Hand-drawn doodles cover walls, doors, windows, sofas, tables, and beds, immersing visitors in a fascinating and dense world of figures, objects, and patterns that inexorably grow and multiply.
