Architecture Competition: Innovative Furniture 03
The competition is open to everyone, including professionals and students. The assignment is to create an ergonomic, low-cost, environmentally friendly, and simple-to-assemble furniture component for unused spaces. Space is a problem that is widely known, especially in slums and other neglected populations. In addition to being able to accommodate a variety of purposes, including storage, seating, sleeping, reading, writing, and more, the furniture must be able to adjust to different sizes.
Do you think your idea is outstanding? This is your chance to show it off! We are going to build it and open it to the public. Innovative Furniture 03
India is home to the global architectural firm Ketham’s Atelier Architects. In the past, the business created inexpensive furniture and taught students, widowed women, and people from other underprivileged groups how to make it. The completed goods would thereafter be given to these same communities by them. The competition winner will receive assistance from Ketham’s Atelier in the design and manufacture of prototypes, which will be given to the Thinking Hand Nonprofit Organization. After that, the NGO will give the furniture to the underserved neighborhoods. A selection of the furniture that has already been created and shared is shown in the photo gallery below.
