Purposeful 2023 – Some Assembly Required

Not all good designs are original, and not all original designs are good. Building a venue for health care from a blank page takes a long time, and even an almost-perfect result degrades over time as practices, treatments, and knowledge evolve. Purposeful 2023

Last Year at PURPOSEFUL, we looked at ways to distribute health care to the community, against the odds of limited time and resources, compounded by urban geography. This year, we will roll up our sleeves and give those ideas form.

Cake Mixes and Closed Minimarts

Maintaining and promoting health is a critical need, why not give it a head start? Reusing and repurposing the unused and underused buildings in our midst is one way to do that. A cake mix is a shortcut to a delicious dessert, and the empty church or bowling alley in your neighborhood may be a shortcut to quality care and treatment. This year at PURPOSEFUL, we will apply our design skills and healthcare knowledge to a collection of places that once met other needs, and in the process bring care closer to the patient. Happy accidents are sure to abound!
