Updates on engineering and architecture jobs available around the world

The School of Built Environment, Architecture and Creative Industries, gives visibility to our new Architecture discipline alongside the obvious synergy with Civil Engineering.  It also incorporates Media Design and Technology, the technology that underpins the Creative Industries, to grow collaborations with the advanced digital visualisation and design work in Architecture.  For example, in digital heritage, environment simulation, animating large scale architectural projects and digital twins for urban planning.  There is also a strong alignment with Bradford UK City of Culture 2025.

With over 50 years of academic excellence, the University of Bradford has continued to grow its international reputation and innovative course provision. With almost 13,500 students, the University is pioneering in developing new course subjects, reflecting, and anticipating the needs of employers, students, and society as a whole.

The School of Built Environment, Architecture and Creative Industries has a long history of academic excellence across the subjects of civil engineering, structural engineering, and construction management. Building on the school’s success, we have recently launched new innovative programmes in Architectural Engineering and Architectural Technology. The department also plans to launch a third programme in Architecture.

The Faculty of Engineering and Digital Technologies at the University of Bradford is seeking to recruit a talented and motivated individual to join us as an assistant professor in architecture within the school of built environment, architecture, and creative industries.  This is an exciting opportunity for an academic to lead multi-disciplinary, high-profile research via the faculty’s research centres. We are seeking individuals who can contribute towards world leading research and teaching within the University, and successful applicants would be expected to map their strengths to the existing research and teaching expertise within the School and Faculty.  We would welcome applicants who can demonstrate synergy with our established Bradford Centre for Sustainable Environments and/or Advanced Materials Engineering Centre, whilst applicants bringing expertise in other associated areas are equally encouraged.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching within the school of built environment, architecture, and creative industries at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including the programmes in BEng/MEng Architectural Engineering, BSc Architectural Technology and BA Architecture. You will join a diverse team of 15 academics and researchers within the school of built environment, architecture, and creative industries with expertise including architectural technology, structures, geotechnics, materials, sustainability, fluid dynamics, management, and mathematical modelling.

If you have a query or would like to discuss the above role, please email Professor Martin Priest, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Digital Technologies, m.priest@bradford.ac.uk.
