Top tier, award-winning design studio in the heart of Brisbane is looking for an experienced Technical Architect to provide support to all project teams with regard to training, detailing, technical resolution and compliance issues. You will be part of a team that also provides extensive technical learning and knowledge share materials to the wider practice.
This role could be offered as either full-time or part-time.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and carry out Technical Reviews and Technical Workshops
- Produce markup set and collate main findings into report for project team.
- Produce, oversee and drive the delivery of architectural documentation packages through design development, tender and construction phases autonomously and within teams
- Advocate and assist with achieving regenerative outcomes
- Identify trends and needs for team / studio education and opportunities for harvesting reference material
- Mentoring less experienced team members and helping them develop and grow their technical design capability, and encourage professional growth
- Participate in knowledge share activities
Skills & Experience
- Degree qualification in Architecture
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- An enthusiasm for the gaining and sharing of knowledge
- Experience carrying out technical reviews on projects, written notes, drawing markups, detail sketches etc
- Deep technical knowledge and expertise gained through significant experience of delivering a variety of constructed projects.
- Good architectural detailing, preferably over a range of building elements, internally and externally
- Knowledge of common building materials and systems. An interest in the environmental and embodied carbon performance of building materials would be beneficial (further training on this will be provided)
- Working knowledge of common Australian Standards and the BCA and its compliance pathways. Preparing alternative solutions / performance reports would be beneficial but not essential
- Solid experience working with common procurement processes and understanding their implications on documentation requirements
- Mentoring less experienced team members and helping them develop and grow their technical design capability, and encourage professional growth
- Knowledge of collaboration and coordination processes with other consultants and tools such as BIM 360, Navisworks etc.
- An excellent proactive and collaborative manner and open approach to problem solving.
- Good knowledge of Documentation processes. Some knowledge of Revit would be beneficial but not essential
