Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Lecturer in Project Management to join the Wellington School of Architecture. This is an exciting opportunity to teach across the Architecture disciplines and help shape the future of architecture and the built environment in Aotearoa. The position calls for an individual with a strong expertise in the delivery of architectural or landscape architecture project management. You will have expertise in the development of project programs and schedules and will be familiar with program leadership styles and cost management. Professional experience is highly desirable.

- Contribute to the collegial development of the major, School and Faculty in service roles.
Ō pūmanawa – About you
You are passionate about teaching a diverse range of students and appreciate the importance of Ako (reciprocal teaching and learning). You will be familiar with contemporary discourse and demands in the field of Architectural Project Management. You will have evidence of success in one or more of the following:
- Architecture
- Interior Architecture
- Landscape Architecture
- Building Science
- Urban and Regional Planning
However, we are open to applications from a wide range of candidates that may contribute to research and teaching in this area.
An appreciation for both the theory and practice of architectural project management will help you thrive in this role. You will have established industry connections and create opportunities to collaborate and enhance student’s successes and experiences. You will engage with allied majors, in particular Architecture, Building Science, Interior Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Māori Designed Environments, and Urban and Regional Planning. You will be encouraged to share and scaffold knowledge across the other relevant majors in the School of Architecture. You will have evidence of the ability to create a collaborative and open teaching and learning environment in studio, seminars and lectures. You will have the ability to mentor students to engage with issues of cultural response and identity. Experience teaching using online methods will be an advantage.
Key Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications or industry experience commensurate with the seniority of this role or a completed PhD in a relevant field.
- An established track record in research publication and/or project delivery.
- Demonstrated evidence of a high standard of teaching in a relevant field at tertiary level or relevant industry experience.
- Ability to work with students and staff from a diverse range of backgrounds.
