About the role

Kellogg College’s Global Centre on Healthcare and Urbanisation (GCHU) wishes to appoint a postdoctoral researcher with a research background in sustainable urban development and healthy cities, and with experience in applied research and successful research-related publications. You will be required to work independently, and possess the skills and capacity required to undertake research through to peer-reviewed publication..

The Centre launched a Commission on Creating Healthy Cities in early 2021, with the resulting reporting being published in July 2022. Your role as Research Fellow will include taking forward the work in support of the recommendations of the Commission, and reviewing and expanding the evidence base for the Healthy Cities Toolkit.

You will also engage in additional independent research that fits within the Centre’s remit and long-term vision. The appointee will report to Professor Carl Heneghan and Dr David Howard, the co-Directors of the Centre on matters relating to research. The Centre is managed by the GCHU Administrator, with whom the appointee will liaise on administrative matters concerning the Centre’s activities, and the appointee will also liaise with the Kellogg College Finance Bursar for matters pertaining to the individual.

About you 

You will have a doctorate, and preferably existing postdoctoral experience in a relevant field. You will bring extensive research expertise in sustainable urban development and related health matters, and a track record in successful research applications and project management. You will have highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
