The role

Contribute effectively to the successful learning experiences of students in the College through effective teaching that meets or exceeds College standards and results in high levels of student retention and achievement. You will teach on our Foundation and Pre-Masters Programme, between 8-16 hours per week. As a Lecturer, you will contribute to the design, development and production of teaching materials and delivery across the programme. The pay rate is £30.63 per hour. Payment for marking/assessments and other activities will be explained in detail during the interview stage. The term commences in January 2023; 12 weeks teaching followed by post-examination activities.

Essential experience required:

  • Minimum Master’s degree in a relevant subject
  • Teaching and assessment experience in UK higher or further education
  • Teaching qualification or be prepared to work towards completion, with experience of working with international students
  • Commitment to and understanding of the development of students of diverse backgrounds.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and adaptably to meet the changing needs of the organisation
  • Understand equal opportunity issues as they may impact on academic content and issues relating to student needs

Desirable experience required:

  • PhD or Professional Doctorate in a relevant subject
  • Experience in curriculum design and evaluation
  • Network with relevant employers and industry sector related to the specialism
