Architect Job: Work Based Learning Skills Coach (Apprenticeships)

We are looking to appoint a Work Based Learning Skills Coach. The University of Wolverhampton is making a major strategic investment of £100M to establish a dedicated campus with new facilities for the School of Architecture and Built Environment on a 12 acre city centre brownfield regeneration site as part of the City of Wolverhampton canal-side redevelopment. The School of Architecture and Built Environment is one of five Schools forming the Faculty of Science and Engineering, and is based in the city centre of Wolverhampton. With excellent industrial links, active research programmes and professionally accredited courses, the School is committed to further growing its existing research and consultancy provision.

You will be responsible for visiting each apprentice once every quarter for the entire duration of their programme. You will also be responsible for completing all the required paperwork and update all records related to the progress made by the apprentice. This job involves extensive travelling as apprentices will have to be visited at client sites and therefore a full UK drivers’ licence is an essential requirement.

You must have a good degree in any related subject area to construction, civil engineering, architecture or architecture technology or equivalent. The University of Wolverhampton operates a widening participation policy and as such you should be able to demonstrate that you can develop and maintain empathy and a good rapport with students. A proven familiarity with recent developments in one of the areas within the school of Architecture and Built Environment, as well as the ability to work flexibly in a team environment are essential qualities, together with relevant professional body qualifications. A well-established research record would be a distinct advantage, as would experience of new course development as the School implements its expansion plans.
