The base design for the Biscayne Collection of fabrics were inspired by photographs I took of architecture details of Zaha Hadid’s One Thousand Museum Tower, aka The Scorpion Tower, located at 1000 Biscayne Boulevard in Miami, Florida. This is a special collection because Dame Zaha Mohammad Hadid DBE RA died March 31, 2016 prior to the tower being brought to life in 2019. In early 2018, before the building was finished, an episode of PBS’ Impossible Builds featured the building, which they referred to as the “scorpion tower”, and described it a
