Competition: Reimagining Spaces with RMZ

RMZ Corp, one of Asia’s largest privately-owned, near zero-debt real estate investment, development, and management firms, is launching an innovative design competition for undergraduate university students in India and Turkey.

The deadline for students to apply is March 10, 2023. Registration is free for the competition.

‘Reimagining Spaces with RMZ’ offers students an unprecedented opportunity to dive into how design pedagogy deepens our collective understanding of social spaces as they submit their future-ready design concepts and compete for a prize of RS 5 Lacs.

RMZ believes the social spaces in which we spend our time can and should act as hubs filled with unique possibilities to forge communal and cultural connections. RMZ designed some of the preeminent office spaces in India, creating stimulating vivid experiences for its members, and is dedicated to fostering the next generation of top designers.

Below are the six categories to that undergraduate university students in India and Turkey can submit their design ideas. Within a volumetric proportion of 6x6x6m – that strengthens the concept of community in social spaces:

Practical Magic – creating the wow factor

Green Working – Biophilia and a new way of working

Once in a lifetime – Insta moments

All-for-one and for all – collaborative spaces

Style Counsel – trendsetting / built to last

Nurturing Nature – integrating outside with inside

Once the participants select their themes, they will explain the theme in detail by defining the various spaces and elements critical to the design and devising a sensitive, sustainable design output. Lastly, students will create and submit the design for one of the six categories by addressing how these cubes can function as standalone and stacked, if required, next to each other.

The jury of this competition will include:

  • Mr Sinan Kafadar, Principal Architect, Metex Design, Istanbul
  • Mr Vikas Gore, Director, DPA, Singapore
  • Mr. Ravi Sarangan, Founding partner, Edifice Architects
  • Mr. Imran Syed Md, Head, Bose International, Delhi
  • Ms Yasemin Koluglu, Director, SOM, NY
