UCL Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (CEGE), is a multidisciplinary department with a long tradition of excellence in teaching and research. CEGE holds the Royal Academy of Engineering award of ‘Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Building Design’ jointly with the Bartlett, the UCL Faculty of the Built Environment. We are seeking Industry Tutors in Structural Design Practice to engage in structural design teaching and tutoring in the studio environment, as part of an interdisciplinary team with architects and building services/environmental designers and professional engineers.
The main purpose of the Design studio courses is to promote the integrated design approach through the whole design process, from an idea’s inception and investigation to the detailed stages of design, whereby architectural structural and comfort design requirements are addressed in a holistic manner. The Industry Tutors will mainly be involved in teaching structural Design to years 2, 3 and 4 of the cohort and helping the students integrate structural design in their projects within the Design Practice Studio.
