The London Design Awards is a prestigious international competition that celebrates exceptional designs and creative projects worldwide. Its second season in 2025 invites designers from all disciplines—including product design, architecture, interior design, graphic design, UX/UI, fashion, and more—to showcase their innovative work. The competition embraces diversity in participants, welcoming companies, teams, freelancers, students, and hobbyists alike. By recognizing current design trends alongside fresh perspectives, the awards position London as a global hub of design excellence and innovation.

Competition Overview and Categories

The London Design Awards features multiple categories, such as Product Design, Architectural Design, Interior Design, Packaging Design, Conceptual Design, User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) Design, Communication Design, Service Design, Landscape Design, and the newly introduced Fashion Design. This broad scope ensures that the competition reflects the evolving nature of design across disciplines.

Eligibility and Submission Requirements

Entries must be original works produced within the last five years and submitted exactly as published or implemented—modifications for the competition are not permitted. The organizers reserve the right to reclassify submissions into the correct categories and to withhold awards if submissions do not meet expectations.

Participants are encouraged to submit a detailed synopsis of approximately 350 words to provide context and insight into their projects. Non-English entries must include a written translation or adaptation. Visual submissions should be JPEG/JPG files under 4MB, preferably 1200px wide at 300dpi, RGB format. Audio or video submissions must be shared via direct URL links (e.g., Vimeo, YouTube) with necessary access credentials provided for judging.

Levels of Achievement

The competition awards four levels of recognition based on scoring:

  • Design of the Year: Highest-scoring entry in each category
  • Platinum Winner: Scores between 85-100
  • Gold Winner: Scores between 70-84
  • Silver Winner: Scores between 50-69

Judging and Evaluation Criteria

Judging is blind to prevent bias. The jury consists of diverse professionals including designers, architects, educators, and industry leaders from around the world. Criteria include:

  • Creativity, originality, and concept
  • Content, planning, and execution
  • Innovation and technology
  • Quality, functionality, and sustainability
  • Overall impression and memorability

Scores are given on a 1-100 scale, considering both the design merits and narrative quality.
