Media Architecture Biennale 2023 | Call for MAB Student Awards

We invite you to submit your contribution to the Media Architecture Biennale 2023 (MAB23), which will take place June 14 – June 15 (online) and June 21-23, 2023 (in-person/hybrid) featuring an online programme as well as on-site events in Toronto, Canada.

We are seeking outstanding examples of Media Architecture related projects created by students for the MAB Student Awards. The Media Architecture Biennale Student Awards recognize the world’s best student projects at the intersection of architecture, urban design and planning, media and interaction design, and urban media art.

The awards ceremony, featuring nominees and winners, will take place on July 15th, 2023 as an online live-cast. Winners and nominees are not required to attend the online live-cast or in-person conference activities, although attendance of all nominees is encouraged. Registration details will be available in early 2023. Discounted student tickets will be available.

* Please note that this is NOT a call for art installations to be exhibited at the Media Architecture Biennale.

MAB23 | Themes

Moreover, there are four main thematic areas for the Media Architecture Biennale 2023: Equity & Access, (Dis)Engagement, Civic/Creative/Commercial, and Intermedial Media Architecture. Submissions should reflect one or more of the conference themes. However, we also welcome proposals that sit outside of these areas and integrate research, artistic practice, or industry innovation.

Details about the themes can be found on the website.
