Terminus Technologies has developed an interactive robotic mascot – OPTI – to enhance visitor experience of the Expo 2020 Dubai. With friendly looks, advanced mobility, voice interaction and vivid body language, OPTI will serve as a goodwill ambassador at the Expo site. Through visitor interactions, performances and parades OPTI brings unprecedented Expo experience for guests.
Expo 2020 Dubai wanted to bring safer, immersive and pleasant experiences for visitors through applications of cutting-edge technology. OPTI serves the needs of the Expo while also benefiting its visitors by various means. OPTI helps to make the Expo a safer place by decreasing the chances of human-to-human transmission of COVID-19. The robot frees manpower from working extended hours on welcoming visitors in the heat of Dubai. The compact size and height resembling an average four-year-old child, makes Opti look cute and also more approachable to children. OPTI has an ability to talk, dance, smile and pose for photos, ensuring a special and memorable visitor experience.
