In a historic step, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia received the flag of the Olympic Council of Asia, announcing its hosting of the 10th Asian Winter Games “NEOM 2029“.
This step makes Saudi Arabia the first country in West Asia to host this major continental sporting event, reflecting its progress in the field of sports and international organization.

Handing over the flag
The flag was handed over during the closing ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games, which was held at the Harbin International Convention, Exhibition and Sports Center in China.
The ceremony was attended by officials and representatives from 45 Asian countries. His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, received the Olympic flag from Mr. Timothy Fok, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia.

The official logo for the “NEOM 2029” Games was revealed, inspired by the NEOM mountains, which symbolize strength and ambition. The dynamic shapes on the snow express the vitality of winter sports, while the letter “A” reflects the spirit of progress and innovation embodied in NEOM’s “Rings of the Future”.

Trojena is located in the NEOM region, northwest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, covering an area of approximately 26,500 square kilometers.
Trojena covers an area of 60 square kilometers dedicated to winter sports, making it one of the largest areas dedicated to this type of event in the world.

Sports facilities:
Trojena will include 36 kilometers of ski slopes, designed to suit all levels, from beginners to professionals.
An integrated Olympic Village will be built, including 3,000 housing units for athletes and participating delegations.
The area will also include an international ski and snowboard center, open stages for freestyle skiing events, and areas dedicated to cross-country skiing.
Infrastructure
