The Saudi Games 2024 Torch for the highly anticipated third edition has arrived in NEOM, marking a key moment in the event’s nationwide promotional tour. The Saudi Games, the largest sporting event in the Kingdom, will take place in Riyadh from October 3 to October 17.
Celebratory Atmosphere at Bajdah
In a spirited and celebratory atmosphere, the torch journeyed through NEOM’s historic site of Bajdah. Rayan Fayez, Deputy CEO of NEOM, was present to receive the torch from Salman Al-Faraj, a former Saudi national football team member and Al Hilal player, who now plays for NEOM.
Football Legend Salman Al-Faraj Passes the Torch
Al-Faraj boasts an impressive record, having won the Saudi League eight times, the King’s Cup five times, the Saudi Super Cup three times, and the AFC Champions League twice. He also represented Saudi Arabia in the 2018 and 2022 World Cup tournaments. Following this, the torch was handed over to Omar Al-Thaqib, the Saudi national padel champion who secured gold at the Saudi Games in both 2022 and 2023.
