The SKYHIVE Timber Skyscraper Challenge is the sixth annual architectural competition.
Looking for unique and distinctive designs for a high-rise building structure.
The SKYHIVE Challenge was looking to implement modern technologies and concepts, to reimagine what a modern skyscraper would look like and how it works.
This year, there was a new development in the commissioning of architects, as well as designers, to create skyscraper designs that are primarily built of timber.
The jury will, as always, look for designs that take a fresh and innovative approach to aesthetics and spatial organization.
It will pay extra attention to those that incorporate sustainability into their designs.
The SKYHIVE Timber Skyscraper Challenge also looks for those structures that in some way address economic, social and cultural problems.
This is by creating new architectural styles, plus he is also looking for designs that work differently.
As in the previous challenges, there is no competition location set,
so participants can choose any virtual location measuring 130m x 80m.
It can be accessed by roads on both sides.
The designs can also be placed in the city of their choice anywhere in the world,
as long as the project is in line with the skyline and surroundings of the area.
The annual SKYHIVE Challenge is a platform, to examine the relationship between skyscrapers, the natural world, society and the city as a whole.
Designs must show consideration of the impact on the surrounding environment, as well as how the increase in population will affect existing infrastructure, and pollution levels.
