PREMISE

An oasis may be a lush green area within the middle of a desert, centred around a spring or a well. it’s almost a reverse island, during a sense, because it’s a small area of water surrounded by a sea of sand or rock.

Oases are often fairly easy to spot—at least in deserts that don’t have towering sand dunes. The sight of an oasis on the horizon has been a really welcome one for desert travellers.

They vary in size from a cluster of date palms around a well or a spring to a city and its irrigated cropland. Dates, cotton, olives, figs, citrus fruits, wheat and corn (maize) are common oasis crops.

Rivers that flow through some deserts provide permanent sources of water for giant , elongated oases. The fertile Nile valley and delta in Egypt, furnished with water from the Nile , is an example of this sort of huge oasis. At 22,000 square kilometres, it’d be the most important oasis within the world.

MARRAKESH

The culture in Marrakech, a bit like any culture worldwide, plays a crucial part in shaping a city and its people. Marrakech is rich in culture then diverse with its historical influences reflected through the gorgeous architecture, delicious cuisine and welcoming people. The culture within the ‘red city’ is exclusive and has been strongly influenced by Arab and Islamic civilisations due to the vast Berber population. The culture in Marrakech is portrayed through language, religion, music, crafts, and tradition.

Bathed within the pink glow of its adobe walls, the stunning Marrakesh throws open its doors to all or any culture lovers. Marrakesh consists of an array of influences that defy eras, a mosaic of colors where the wonders of the past and therefore the present inherit focus.

How can an idea of Oasis and therefore the culture of Marrakech close in an architectural project that’s far more than a culture box? How can it symbolize the Marrakech of the future?
