Jouska! may be a new publication from the CCD. it’s a multimedia publication accepting submissions on the experience of built, natural, and perceived Space(s) from anyone and anywhere during a sort of formats. The CCD is starting to experiment with a bigger sort of media formats to permit for a greater diversity of authors and modes of expression around/about Space. Pieces in any language are welcome as long as a translation in English is provided within the respective media format.

Jouska! is experimental and artistic in tone.

Deadline for submissions: February 12th.
Informed of acceptance: February 28th.
Publication: April 30th

Email your submission as either a .pdf or .doc (if written), a Youtube/Vimeo link (if audio/video) to elizabeth@theccd.org with the topic line ‘Jouska! Submission from [YOUR NAME]. Please provide any relevant social links and a brief bio.

Submissions are selected without knowledge of the author’s personal information to make sure a good process.

Accepted multimedia formats on the theme of ‘Spatial Relationships.’

-Photographic series (standalone photo or up to six consecutive photographs that convey a cohesive narrative. Or a series of standalone photos. Please specify which you’re submitting.)
-Short films (up to twenty minutes with no minimum length).
Genres: animation, short documentary, experimental, film essay, visual poetry, sci-fi, theatre, monologues

-Poetry (a standalone poem or series of poems up to 4 poems in any poetic style. not than 150 lines per poem).
-Short expository essays (up to 2000 words)
-Creative non-fiction/personal essays (up to 2000 words)
-Photojournalism pieces.
-Non-fiction pieces that communicate major ideas during a short, digestible way.

-Music (spatial soundtracks, original songs w or without lyrics. Accompanying music videos welcome).
-Slam poetry
-Dance pieces (up to 10 minutes)

-VR/AR landscapes (up to 3)
-Graphic/environmental renders.
-UI/UX design

-Sculpture, visual/fine arts, etc.
