The Harvard University Graduate School of Design (GSD) announces the 2025 cycle of the Wheelwright Prize, an international competition offering $100,000 to support innovative architectural research. This annual prize fosters impactful design research, open to early-career architects worldwide who earned a degree from a professionally accredited architecture program within the last 15 years.
Applicants must submit a portfolio and a travel-based research proposal by Sunday, February 9, 2025. The prize-winning architect will conduct two years of focused research and present their findings in a concluding lecture, with support and feedback from the GSD faculty and jury.
Originally established in 1935 as the Arthur W. Wheelwright Traveling Fellowship, this prize has evolved to encourage global architectural studies.
