2023 SEGD Global Design Awards

The most prestigious international competition for designers of experiences.

Since 1987, the SEGD Global Design Awards have set the standard of excellence for experience design—honoring designs that make space for connection, create moments of exhilaration, build experiences with emotion, and help people find their way. Recognizing the best of the best in design that connects people to place, this award celebrates design that inspires and improves the human experience for individuals of all backgrounds and abilities.

This year, a multi-disciplinary jury will evaluate projects based on their effectiveness in connecting people to place, creating unique and memorable user experiences, and solving design challenges. Design award categories include Branded Environments, Digital Experiences, Exhibition Design, Placemaking, Public Installation, Strategy/Research/Planning, and Wayfinding.

The 2023 SEGD Global Design Awards Jury Chair is Genell Hoechstetter, Senior Creative Director of Meow Wolf. In addition, eight other jurors will review and select the Award-winning projects. Including Amy Lukas of Infinite Scale, Ana Tobin of George Mason University, and Inguna Elere of Design Studio H2E. Moreover, Joel Kriger of Magic Leap, Kyle Richter of RSM Design, and Lynn Kiang of Dome Collective. Additionally, Matt Usi of Universal Creative, and Robin Abad Ocubillo of San Francisco Shared Spaces.

SEGD Global Design Award-winning projects represent the pinnacle of experiential design and the most celebrated and referenced experiences throughout the world. Award-winning projects receive significant international publicity and exposure online at awards.segd.org, and are in the SEGD’23 Design Annual. Award-winning design firms are featured in articles and are provided numerous thought leadership opportunities throughout the year.
