A timeless sculptural design inspired by the glowing white skirt of Simazen in the Maldives,

Turkish artist Seçkin Pirim has created a site-specific permanent sculpture for the welcoming

JOALI BEING sanctuary, on the island of Budufushi in the Maldives.

Named after Zero’s Gate, the sculpture’s undulating shape was inspired by Semazen’s glowing white skirt.

It represents letting go of the ego, purifying the soul, and reaching “zero,”

the indefinable point where true introspection becomes possible.

JOALI BEING is the only haven of its kind in the Maldives for recreation and luxury immersed in nature,

featuring the Seçkin Pirim sculptures as a gateway to which visitors feel as if they are liberating the soul.

Surrounded by ethereal lagoons and lush coconut palms, the island is secluded,

tucked away in the far northern reaches of the Maldives.

Gate Zero is the island’s only passageway for visitors, and this recurring structure is a reflection of the artist’s “one to whole” understanding,

which is essential to his work.

When you reach the Sublime Island, your gaze will shine on Gate Zero,

and its spiritual symbolism will begin to speak to your soul and set you on the path of self-transformation.

Where the masterpiece is inspired by the glowing white skirt of semazen,

which represents the renunciation of the ego, the purification of the soul,

and the reaching of ‘Zero’.

It is the indefinable point where true introspection becomes possible.
