Aero Tower: Between Aspirations and Conservative Reactions

Home » News » Aero Tower: Between Aspirations and Conservative Reactions
The Aero Tower, proposed as part of the North Pole project in Riyadh, raises questions about the feasibility of its design compared to other urban projects in the Kingdom. Despite its ambitions, the design did not achieve the expected popularity, with cold reactions from the public.
The design of the “Aero Tower” indicated a naturalistic trend in architecture, but it was unable to achieve much impact among followers. Despite being part of an advanced project like the North Pole, the design looked ordinary and did not feature the expected innovation.
The design was revealed without official confirmation, raising questions about how serious the plan was. Feedback on the quality of the design was limited, as the tower did not live up to the high architectural standards that the Kingdom had witnessed in previous projects.
The tower’s grid design is similar to Norman Foster’s “The Gherkin”, but it does not reach the same level of innovation or appeal. The design appears to be the result of a normal design process, and is believed to have been created using standard 3D modeling software and the Lumion rendering software.
Taking into account the developments in architecture in the Kingdom, it seems that the “Aero Tower” may not be the final design, especially in light of the comparison with the Jeddah Tower, which far surpasses it in terms of innovation and design.
Aero Tower stands at the crossroads between ambitious plans for the future and the realism of the present. Part of a wider future vision, it provides a platform for further development and innovation, to allow it to realise greater success and acclaim from both the general public and industry professionals. By continuing to push boundaries, the tower will continue to remain an inspiration to all who encounter it and become an iconic symbol of progress.
