The Coralium Marine Life Institute project, located in the Triple Bay area of AMAALA, is nearing completion.

The institute focuses on scientific research in the field of marine life, in addition to tourism and educational experiences, and will include one of the largest man-made coral reefs in the world.

The institute was designed by the global architectural firm “Foster + Partners”, and will operate as a tourist destination as well as a scientific research center.

It will accelerate the pace of research aimed at preserving the environment, while providing visitors with multi-dimensional tourism experiences that combine educational offerings with knowledge-rich tourism adventures.

The institute is located within the “Amaala” destination on the west coast of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, specifically located on the waterfront of “Triple Bay”. The institute, which covers an area of 10,340 square meters, will consist of three floors, one above ground and two below ground, and will provide its visitors with panoramic views of the Red Sea and the marina.

The exterior design of the institute is inspired by the stunning coral formations of the Red Sea, and will be built using concrete that will be intricately cast in special molds to represent the patterns of coral reefs on the horizon. Inside, the exhibition facilities are integrated into the infrastructure of the institute, with visitors surrounded from their entry point by suspended semi-spherical tanks containing brightly colored local marine life.
