Academic & Education Director
Reporting to the CEO, working as part of CABE’s senior executive team you will lead, develop and manage both the Academic & Education strategy and the day to day operational requirements which deliver the services and structures of our academic partnerships, our accreditation processes and support our areas of our education/training.
Our Academic & Education arena is delivered across the UK & ROI, it supports our APAC region through our Hong Kong office and this role is expected to manage all of these areas.
In addition to the overall role profile as above you will also be responsible for the:
- Development and delivery of academic accreditation and re-accreditation processes and offering to CABE and the requirements to EngC standards
- Management of relationships with EngC, CIC and other stakeholders on academic and education matters
- Development of a linked strategy bringing together the activities of our regional committees, academic partners and company partners to align the activities which support our students and our future membership generation.
- Student to Graduate conversions and delivery of Graduate members, development of a young professional’s network and student membership development, with peer support & mentoring into membership
- Manage the operational structures and engagement of academics across part time apprenticeship degree courses for student members and the professional networks required for student development into the industry
- To ensure through auditing that the academic mapping of courses by partners is robust and aligned with the most up to date CABE competency frameworks.
- Development of Engineering Council Academic Route into membership & fellowship.
- Manage and lead CABE’s Academic & Accreditation Panel of chartered members to establish and maintain partnerships and course approvals and undertake accreditation visits.
- The maintenance of the Academic Management documents aligned to our ISO9001 accreditation
- Work with the Competency & Learning Lead on CABE training course accreditation
- Work with the CEO on the strategic development of international developing markets
- Able to travel within the UK & ROI and to our Hong Kong office for APAC.

Key skills experience/education
- Ideally >5 years Proven experience within the Academic, Education and Learning arena of the Built Environment
- Ideally >5 years in a senior management role
- Proven experience in external relationship management
