Leicester School of Architecture (LSA) sits in a Faculty of Art, Design and Humanities, which allows us to place inter-disciplinary thinking and collaborations central to the School. We show how different disciplines can positively disrupt one another, revealing new ways of seeing, thinking and making. Art, industry, humanities and design converge to tackle real world issues and speculate and propose new futures.
The Architecture Programme at De Montfort University is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Lecturer/Senior Lecturer with an aspiration and passion in integrating architectural design with climate literacy, ethics and humanities. We are looking for someone who wishes to teach the next generation of architects to challenge their future industry and help make the changes in construction needed to lead in tackling the climate emergency and social change.
In this role we are looking for a First-Year leader for the BA(Hons) Architecture programme that will work closely with the Programme Leader and the leads of our four architectural threads: Architectural Space & Context (ASC), Architectural Humanities & Ecologies (AHE), Architectural Technology & Environments (ATE) and Architectural Practice & Ethics (APE), to develop and implement a new, integrated curriculum, that responds to the need for climate literate architects. We want someone who has a genuine desire to support students to successfully transition into Higher Education, and evolve a curriculum that will scaffold their learning during their first year of studies. All leadership roles are four-year rotational responsibilities.
The role is on a full time (37 hours per week), permanent basis. We are happy to consider applications for fractional contracts. If you are looking for a fractional contract please state within your application form the number of days you are looking for.
To be successful as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Architecture, you will have proven academic and industry experience, with extensive design studio involvement, from either practice, research or education. You must have a working understanding of RIBA & ARB accreditation and a working knowledge of the current HE education context in the UK. You must be a people centric person with the desire to be on campus co-creating and delivering curriculum with both the staff and student body. Our student population is diverse and so are interested in making appointments that reflect our student body. For any informal enquires about the position please contact Kate Cheyne – Head of School of Art, Design, Architecture on email@example.com.
