Salary: £22,895 – £25,427 per annum (incl. LWA)

Hours: FTE 0.5/ 17.5 hours

This post is part-time and permanent, working 17.5 hours per week.

The salary stated is the pro-rata amount, the full-time amount is between £45,791 to £50,855 per annum (incl. LWA).

The University of Westminster is one of the UK’s leading centres for the study of Architecture and the Built Environment inspiring more than 2,000 students at its teaching base at Marylebone, in central London. The Transport Studies Group sits within the School of Architecture and Cites and is responsible for a range of professionally oriented postgraduate courses, underpinned by a strong research base. This post will be located in a specialist team with a focus on sustainable approaches to transport and logistics with an emphasis on applications to industry practice.

Building on its existing success the School of Architecture + Cities is seeking to appoint a part time Lecturer to teach Air Transport related subjects on the MSc Air Transport Planning and Management. This appointment is an opportunity to contribute to post-graduate teaching and the related administrative activities located in a specialist team with a focus on sustainable approaches to transport and logistics within the framework set by the school and/or University policy. The postholder will also engage in research and scholarly activity in these areas, individually and in collaboration with colleagues.

Applicants for the Lecturer in Air Transport Planning and Management should have experience within the broad field of air transport, together with a Post-Graduate Degree (or an equivalent level of knowledge), teaching experience in higher education and/or relevant professional experience (e.g. in practice) and a proven research background. A particular specialism in airport management or air cargo would be welcome.
