Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
We have a postdoctoral fellow position available for a highly motivated individual to develop and conduct high quality research related that aims to. We are seeking a postdoctoral academic to provide research assistance to the Principal and Associate Investigators of the 5-year Endeavour funded programme: ‘Reducing flood risk inundation hazard and risk across Aotearoa-New Zealand’.
You will undertake research activities set out by the project leaders, liaising with research collaborators and stakeholders, accurate administration and reporting, preparing research outputs, and seeking opportunities for research and funding opportunities.
This is a fixed-term position for two years from commencement, which ideally will commence on November 1, 2023. Salary will be in the range of $83,337 to $99,551 per year, prorated, based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. Ko wai koe? – Who are you?
You will have demonstrated technical expertise and a PhD in a relevant field such as Urban/Environmental Planning, Economics, Geography, Data Science and will work closely with a variety of stakeholders and academics locally and globally.
You will need to be able to demonstrate strong statistical/econometrical and GIS skills, and programming experiences, preferably in Python and/or R. You will understand and have experience with agent-based modelling and qualitative research methods in social science.
You will be a highly motivated researcher, adept at developing and conducting high quality research. You will be comfortable collaborating and building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to disseminate research findings.
