About the role

Background to the Project

The project “Pathways to(wards) carbon neutrality for climate, environment, health, and socio-economic co-benefits (PANTHEON)” funded by the European Union’s Horizon program has been awarded to UCL. This project aims to develop an integrated participatory modeling approach, which integrates the multisectoral input-output model (MRIO) and Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model, to assess the potential of various technologies to contribute to decarbonization in the energy and industrial sectors and evaluate their socio-economic and environmental impacts along global value chains. It focuses on mature solutions like wind and solar, as well as emerging technologies such as green hydrogen and supercritical CO2 enhanced geothermal systems (EGCS), assessing their readiness, deployment, efficiency, emission reduction potential, and costs. The investigators are a multidisciplinary team with decarbonisation experts in carbon accounting , economic analysis, and environmental assessment.

About you

The appointee is required to have A good Bachelor’s degree (minimum of 2:1), Knowledge of MRIO, A PhD in economics, geography, or a relevant built environment subject, Experience in working in a research or consultancy environment, Experience in high-quality academic publication.

They will also have experience of A proactive approach and ability to communicate effectively in a variety of formats, Effective written and verbal communication skills, Project management and implementation skills, Administrative (e.g. time management) and IT skills, Basic research skills and the ability to analyse and write up data.

Your application will be assessed based on how well the criteria set out in the person specification are met using examples to demonstrate this.
