Architect Job: Senior Lecturer in Landscape Architecture

This is your opportunity to lead the Landscape Architecture courses at one of London’s most well-established schools of Architecture and Landscape at Kingston University.

In this role you will contribute to the strategic direction of our Landscape Architecture courses and take responsibility for the leadership of delivering the suite of courses which include: a two year Master’s Landscape Architecture MLA, a one year Master’s of Landscape and Urbanism (MALU), and a one year Landscape Architecture PG Diploma,

The ethos of thinking through making is a fundamental and essential part of how the department seeks to enable its students through direct and immediate connection to how things are made and represented. Developing skills in tectonics and representation are valued as means of interrogating, contextualising and developing a critical position. A specialisation in one of these in preferred.

You will be joining a school that is ranked by Domus magazine as one of the top 50 schools in architecture in Europe, and whose graduates regularly receive prestigious prizes.

The Person

You will be a UK qualified Landscape Architect (Licentiate, Chartered CMLI, or equivalent), with experience in teaching on an accredited Landscape Architecture course at masters level, leading modules and developing an innovative curriculum.

You will be able to offer high quality teaching through lectures, seminars and design projects. You will be skilled in providing advice and support to students and be an excellent communicator and collaborator. You will be working with colleagues from across the School’s disciplines including architecture and historic building conservation.

You will have an established or emerging research profile, and will contribute to our research standing through national or internationally recognised practice-based research and/or publications, and may have successfully bid for research or enterprise funding, and undertaken PhD supervision.

This is a part-time (29.6 hours/4 days per week), permanent position with a starting salary of £37,603.20 per annum (80% of the full-time equivalent of £47,004).
